FAMILY PASTA DINNER AND DANCE  2013

This event started off with ticket sales handled by Al Girard and yours truly.  We sold or complemented around 250 tickets.

Real and Blandine purchased most of the food on Thursday and picked up the last minute items on Saturday morning.  Friday afternoon Real, Blandine, Marcel Labbe, Charlie and Lucy Chu, Rose and I did a lot of the food preparation, including making the pasta sauce, pre-boiling the pasta, washing and cutting the lettuce, and cutting the pineapple.

Saturday set-up was again interesting this year as the hall was also booked for a Reconciliation meeting.  Al Girard, Morris Baraniecki, Chris Bogdan, Tom Rothwell and his daughter Jana came at 10:00 am and set up about 1/2 of the tables.  At 2:30 Jeremy Sit, Klaus Klein, Morris Baraniecki, Al Girard, and Rose Lorenz came to complete the set-up. During this time Real, Blandine, Evelyn McQuaid, Wayne Limming and Mark Sparrow worked on the final food preparation.

For the dinner, Robert and Mary Tomusiak, and John Murphy efficiently brought the food from the kitchen to the buffet tables and looked after the coffee and juice.  Table service was provided by Morris and Edith Baraniecki, Scaria Antony, Ramon Alanis, Binu Kurisinkal, and Denin Kurisinkal.

The “piñata bashing” was supervised by David Lacy and his family.  They did a great job keeping order with the many children.  Speaking of children, the children really enjoyed themselves at the dance.  The band of Hoffman and Brown said they thoroughly enjoyed providing the music as they were thrilled to see so many children and adults dancing.

We can’t forget the bar service which was handled in a very pleasant way by Paul and Jeanette Liber and Nelson Choma.

Again we had a marvelous clean-up crew including;  Steve and Elizabeth Hughes, Tom Spiller, Brian Turnbull, Patrick Moric, Eric Berube, Kevin Imlay, Colin Imlay, and of course, Real Demers.  David and Charlene Wehage helped with the final clean-up.

THANKS TO ALL the volunteers.  Many did more than one task by helping out as needed.  Kudos to the many Knights and their families for making this a huge success.
