Brother Knights, Wives, and Families
Tempus fugit – time flies. Brothers, this newsletter will take us through Christmas and New Year. I wish everyone an enjoyable and blessed Christmas and all the best in the New Year.
We are delighted to welcome and congratulate these new Brothers to Father Bonner Council: Dr. Michael Auld; Marlon Monfries and Jibuin Nforcho. These Brothers completed their 1st Degree exemplification on three separate occasions in November. We highly encourage their enthusiasm and participation where their talents can shine and hope they make every effort to complete the 2nd and 3rd degree at their earliest convenience. Also congratulations to Council membership director Brother Paolo Fest-Bianchet and thank you to the 1st Degree team for a job well done.
Charity is the hallmark of our organization, along with good citizenship and Christianity. In each of these settings, we are called upon to perform acts of charity in different ways. Sometimes we are asked to donate money or thoughts, prayers or acts of kindness. At other times we are asked to donate time. Thank you to brothers Paolo, Paul Fields, Anthony, Al, Arnold, Riel, and Cyril, who donated their time and helped realign the church seating benches on Nov. 17, 2012.
Brother Knights we now need men who are interested in supporting the work of the Knights of Columbus by volunteering for a good cause, where great friendships can be developed while supporting the good work of your Council. Opportunities are available for: Community Director and Assistant Community Director, Council Assistant Director, Family Director, Youth Director, and Assistant Membership Director.
We will also need brothers to assist as an Adult Server, Readers and Extraordinary Ministers with the Mass on Dec. 11, 2012 and at the Mass on Dec. 12, in honor of the feast of our Lady of Guadalupe. Please let me know if you can assist in any of these roles, by email at zmbaran@telus.net or leave a message at 780-438-4547.
Thank you to the Father Bonner Columbus Club for the opportunity for my wife, Edith, and myself to attend the 100 Jubilee Gala of our Archdiocese on November 21, 2012.
My best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Brother Knights, their families and loved ones.
