News items from 2015–2016
As we come to a close on the 2015–2016 Columbian year, I’d like to take this opportunity to look back at the end of my two years as Grand Knight. It has been quite an adventure and a learning and eye-opening experience.
Columbian Year 2015–2016 has now come to an end. However, our charitable work as a Council continues as we enter the new Columbian Year on July 1. We will resume our meetings and activities in September.
We sure need the help of the Holy Spirit given what has transpired in our province with the out-of-control wildfires destroying large parts of Fort McMurray and threatening many other areas.
How often do I find myself distracted from what is here and now? Maybe I am stuck thinking of something from the past; either worried about or eagerly anticipating something to come; stressing about that task I was supposed to have gotten done.

Happy New Year! I hope you and your families have had a wonderful Christmas break. The beginning of January marks the start of the new calendar year and the half-way point of the Knights of Columbus fraternal year.
Knights and Ladies of Fr. Bonner Council 7599 contributed 39 volunteer days during two Habitat for Humanity “Build Days” on September 11 and 12, 2015.
We are saddened to advise that Brother Siegfried (Fred) Schiweck, a member of Father Bonner Council 7599, has passed away on July 6, 2015.
